Divorce

Even though marriages are meant to last and everyone tries to make it forever, sometimes it goes on a way we don't want to. Divorce is very common sadly and can happen to anyone. The idea of this post is for you to consider many other solutions such as therapy or counseling, but for divorce, it could be said that is the last resort. Divorce should be considered only after long periods of trying to make it work, after having sought help, and once it has started to destroy the integrity of a person, such as mental or physical integrity. Because the impact on a family when suffering divorce is great and in many cases is almost impossible to fix. On top of that, if there are marriages that got a divorce and then got remarried so they turn into a blended family, there are some important facts and recommendations for them to consider while trying to make that new marriage work.  Marriage is ordained by God and is a commandment to establish families. The document called "The family:...

Parenting

Parenting is something you never know how to do quite right. Is something we start learning when we start having kids, and there are even those that claim they still do not know after they have grandchildren. But is one of the most rewarding things to do. But what is the general definition of parenting? Parenting is the effort to protect and prepare children to survive and thrive in the world they will be living in. With that definition, it seems easier and more concise than it is, and definitely, it sounds less complex than it is. Two big things are important to discuss, one is the importance and some recommendations of how to raise children.  The reasons why parenting is important may be pretty obvious, like creating a good citizen for the country, good workers, and good humans in general. And is true, the only thing is that sometimes we think or forget those things, we might think that someone else can give them or they won't have too many consequences in the real world if...

Hard work in the family

We end up having a lot of things from our families. we get a family culture, way of working, behaving, examples of how to deal with difficulties, religious perspectives, and many other things. All of those things you could have either the good or the bad version of it when one becomes a blessing and the other one a burden. Examples of that are not having enough practice or probably even a bad example of how to deal with disagreement. Because that can be very hard when you are trying to build relationships that are meant to last like marriage or even just dealing with friends or siblings. if you do not know how to deal healthily with that, you might end up breaking those bonds that are precious to us and you won't get to see beautiful things in those cases because we do not have good tools. However, many things are good we could get from the good things we learn in our families. One of them that I would like to focus more on today, is hard work. the good thing about hard work is th...

Why is communication so important?

If you think about it, communication has been the basis of the progress of humanity. Things like writing, poems, history, science, relations between communities, and many other things have been able to exist just because communications and language have been there to make it happen. Nowadays is harder to see the importance of good communication, especially because we tend to take things for granted. Therefore, now we tend to give more relevance to other things and that does not mean communication has stopped, not at all. Is just that now we have become lazy and sometimes even weaponize communication. As much as communications can create, they can also destroy. Examples of that are easier to see in families or even just in relationships like friends and romantic relationships, even in professional relationships. The only difference I think is that in friendly, professional, and early romantic relationships we tend to communicate in a better way to show that we are good people. But ...

Is depression and anxiaty a mental disorder?

I admire a lot the people that face depressive moments and circumstances with bravery and determination. And I have the same feeling with people that deal with constant anxiety. Life is hard and complicated, and often some people are not given the right tools to adapt and reach "happiness". I also considered that people that go through a hard time are given the wrong tools to mentally survive and thrive through challenges. Some of them are the social belief that depression and anxiety are mental disorders that need to be treated with chemicals and medications and that is a dangerous and sadly broad way to think. But the real questions to make and approach this serious and delicate topic are as follows: is chemical unbalance real and if so can we beat these emotions on our own? how dangerous is it to believe the concept of depression and anxiety a mental disorder?  I think chemical unbalance is real, but the tricky part is that is real in a different way than we have been tol...

Sexual intimacy

The differences between man and woman are many, some of them are more obvious than others to the point that is known and talks by everyone. Other differences are more hided or even considered taboo. The one that we are been discussed today is intimacy or sex. The way we are going to approach this is by seeing the difference between man and woman in this topic, and the opportunities that come with this beautiful experience.  Some of the differences will create problems if they are not treated, but some of them might be opportunities for progress. Several of those differences are related to the climax, arousal, and even chemical presence in our nervous system. We know that men are usually more prompted to reach the climax at a faster rate than their counter-type. The men feel arousal more frequently, which means they would want to have sexual intimacy more frequently than women. The climax is harder for women to achieve, but they can repeat that experience in shorter intervals....

preparing for marriage instead of a wedding?

After dating and courtship, the next step is to get engaged, and after that obviously, get married. Now there are several factors of vital value that are related to that period. How we use our time there will be helpful for our future or it could also be a problem. The first one to consider is to prepare a wedding, which will involve several important decisions. And those are important not because the wedding itself is important, but the consequences in that decision can make a big difference. The second is how we prepare for our marriage more than anything else. that is the perfect time to put things in perspective and practice more what is like to be married. And third is important to be careful with that period and as we spent more time with our fiance and how we protect some boundaries.  The wedding day is a very special moment for the couple and everyone should celebrate the fact that they are choosing to honor such a beautiful decision. It is known that most of the time...

Dating and Marriage

It is well known that dating is a precursor of marriage. There are several steps before marriage like dating, courtship which is a little more focused on what is been expected of the time spent together, engagement and marriage. Even though if you share that with someone they would probably agree with that concept, is not as common practice as it use to be before. Sadly nowadays people are more prompted to want a quicker result with fewer possible negative outcomes. If they can get what marriage can offer, but without the possible consequences if "It does not work" they will opt for that. That is what we know as cohabitating. That practice has many disadvantages that will happen, they are not a matter of if they get to happen, but when they happen. Some of those would be caused by the important factor in marriage which is commitment. If you notice, a couple that chooses to marry is choosing to commit even in the hard times. They put things in place to make sure that they wil...

Gender and who we are.

To talk about this topic I would like to approach it differently first. It is in the nature of humankind to try to understand what is true and what is a lie. We like to categorize what is good and what is bad because that will influence a lot in the way we behave, and also how we treat others. The problem with that is that we end up doing it wrong sometimes because we do not have all the information or we try to look for answers in a not accurate way. I am not claiming that I have all the knowledge, but I feel I have been able to feel and see the truth from several things. The reason why I approach this topic like this is that in the last two or three decades, humankind has been way more interested in finding the truth of where gender comes from. And as I said is a natural thing to try to find the reality in those questions. Is gender assigned before we are born? is it something fluid that we can mold? I will try to approach this with my own knowledge. Gender is the group of chara...

Families cultures

Several factors make a family what it is. Some of them are good and some of them are bad. But either way, they are a part of who are as individuals and as a family, or even communities. But do we have to be that? All of those factors make a what we call culture. However, we have heard that culture is the group of characteristics of a community like a language, foods, rituals, habits, and many other things. And that knowledge is correct, but not complete. because if you notice those things mold a family's life, and then eventually the family will grow and increase the people in the community and carry on those factors, so the families end up influencing the culture around them. It is a circle of we must be aware of. And why? Because we can have control of that and change the culture of our homes if they are bad.  There are so many ways to interact with a family that each family will always be unique. Sadly, people are often comfortable with the things they know and not with ne...

Roles in the family

Have you noticed there are roles inside a family? It does not matter the family you will always find something in common. And no, I do not mean the roles like every family has parents or children. I mean roles like being a peacemaker, or the clown of the family, maybe even the trouble maker and the listener. Things like that are necessary for a family and will present in some way. But why does that happen? I think is interesting that families are unique but at the same time very similar. they will all have a different experience but you could easily group those things for being common in families. Some of those are BBQ or fights, movie nights, or wrestling in the living room. Things like that are an essential part of the families.  Let's discuss why. There are two roles that I think are essential among children. The first one is the peacemaker. This one is especially important when the family has more than one child. because even though siblings love each other, there might b...

Two major deviation in families believes

Certain beliefs have followed people's minds for as long as humans have had a tongue to speak. Some of those are the desire of having families, to have a companion from the opposite sex to love and be able to procreate with. Another could be that we are creatures of groups and we do better in families and communities. Together with those ideas, we have the natural desire and goal to make those things thrive and prosper. We all want our families to be happy and safe, or even the communities to be safe for our families so that they can grow and create bonds with other people in good and healthy environments. And for years that has been a path to follow for humankind. Other smaller characteristics create and allow us to have those results, but what happens if step by step those start changing? What would be the result and how that could change the goal for families and communities? Today I would like to touch on two of those topics. One is the desire to procreate or have children. And...
